Squirrel Control
Squirrels are inarguably the #1 nuisance wild animal we deal with in terms of the number of calls we receive. They tend to be very destructive. While they are opportunists and will enter into attics through gaps due to faulty or damaged construction, they will also chew opening in corners or edges of the soffits, fascia, or the roof. Once they enter they often chew wires, cables, HVAC lines, and other items in the attic. They can short out equipment or wires, causing permanent damage or fire. They can destroy insulation baffling and other items while playing and frolicking in the attic.
Two of the most common squirrels are:
- Southern Tree Squirrel
- Southern Flying Squirrel
There are two types of squirrels commonly found in attics in North Carolina: tree squirrels and flying squirrels. They have different habits and physical appearances, and each may require a different approach when it comes to trapping and removal.
Usually there are contributing factors when it comes squirrel problems that, if left unaddressed, can lead to ongoing issues with squirrels. So, having an expert who can identify these factors and help address them can save hundreds or thousands of dollars in future removal and repairs.
